what do you mean theyre not our people? We both went thru the same struggle..slavery..oppression..we both came from africa..the only thing that seperates us is the language we speak from our oppressors...zip it c00n
:dahell: Im far from being a c00n.

AAs are our own ethnic group. Just like you have Nigerians, kenyans,Somali's, trinidadians etc. Yes we both have ancestral ties to Africa, I get that. But we are a different people. Just like two people can both be "Asian" but one is Chinese and the other Korean. They are separate peoples same thing applies here

I totally agree. I hate this concept of monolithic blackness. People are shaped by their experiences, and the experiences of people in Southern Africa is extremely different than those of people in North America.

......well why wouldnt we?
some people on here really do think its the other way around.

I think they feel that white people look more favorably towards other blacks and prefer to work with Foreign blacks instead of American Blacks(which isn't necessarily true), and IMO that may the root of their resentment toward Caribs & Africans :yeshrug:.

That and other factors Like Africans and WI's having their own communities and networks with no AA's

nah
the issue is they CONSTANTLY have to compare themselves to AAs.
we never publicly or even privately mention them.
its not resentment its calling shyt for what it is.
if you want to be recognized as non AA, fine.
just dont look too the AA community when the shyt hits the fan.:yeshrug:

@PumPumAholic® is a great person to get an opinion from. He's half African, half Jamaican, born and raised in Jamaica and now lives up there with you guys! Please share your input if you can boo.

Yep...

When u have a mother that's from Africa and a dad that's from the islands, it's not easy sometimes...

I've live in the islands most of my child hood life with my father. When I was ten years old my father send me to the USA to live with his other family members..
It was hard living in the USA. You have people making fun of the way you dress, speak, express yourself... Still trying to go back to school and finish up.
What I learn is AA/Africans/Islanders are similar in a way. We came from the SAME struggle... Even though our cultures are different we came from the SAME struggle...
