Maybe I'm not too well up on history, but how the cultures drastically different, with the exception of the music........

It aint like peeps <30 aint listening to and emulating hiphop like crazy. :snoop: When I was down there the last few times, I heard there were a couple sets modeled after crips and bloods :wtf:
the traditional culture of these countries are different though. Crip and bloods are an American thing. they're just copy catting.

I'm still trying to get a grasp on how so, I have family down there aside from a few minor things like cuisine and going to festivals / carnival, peeps out there aren't really doing any much different than what I would be doing in the states. Except if I lived that close to the beach, I'd go swimming at least once a day, and reflect on life watching the sunset :manny:

And yeah that's what I'm saying a lot of young cats are copy catting, us in the states. nikkas out there be fukking with chief keef and ross heavy, as well as trying to model their cliques / crews and gangs off tv...

In general kids these days from both sections dont care about tradition though. Hard to blame them, many of their parents didn't either. If they did our communities and families would be a lot stronger.

Not only that. But when u have family member's living in the islands, most of them think you're "rich/successful" because you're living in the states. Most islanders don't under-stand that it's still a struggle living in the states.

Plus when u have a little money to share and buy a barrel to pack and send food down, most of the islanders don't under-stand that it's expensive. It took me and my cousins to pack and send food down to our families in the island.

NEVER SEND MONEY BECAUSE THEY'LL SPEND IT AND CALL U THE NEXT DAY....:beli:

My islanders don't under-stand the struggle sometimes. My older brother wanted to live in the states. I told him HELL NO, you have two business, house, land, cars, beautiful wife/kids, and making money. Don't throw that away...:what:

This sounds just like some shyt I went through being from nyc, and having family, and friends, in small southern towns. They think I was living like a rich man, and had it easy because I was in nyc. They only went by what they saw on tv. I wasn't po' but I wasn't rich. Life wasn't a breeze, like they thought it was.

Breh that's like asking how are Chinese people different from the Japanese. If your parents are from the islands than that means you are Caribbean/(insert island)-American, not AA. Its a different perspective
