Do black people in NY have the accent?

Black people may sound different from other new yorkers because they have roots in the south. The only black people who sound like typical Italian or Irish new yorkers are most likely cops.

I swear all cops talk and sound alike.

Never thought about that, everyone's great grandma is from MS or AL. I agree about the cops. They pronounce so many word harshly.

I don't have a heavy NY accent, but people says it comes out when I get mad.

Even then your still right because west indians just adapted to the black american ny accent. No difference between AA's and WI accents in ny.

There were also native blacks, I don't know about the specific numbers but New Amsterdam/ New York had a good amount of slaves.
