The premise of my point is that people are hypocrites and the people complaining about have to be filtered in this thread aren't any different

I still don't get your point. No one in this thread is advocating for not facing any kind of backlash for their transgressions. The idiots complaining about cancel culture are. That's the entire basis of their argument. They think they should be able to do whatever the fukk without repercussion. Society has never worked that way, that's the point.

Which is exactly I've been responding to the posters who said that people should be able to listen and watch whatever they want when that logic and rhetoric is exactly why we got 4 years of Trump and the continued fallout after.

I look at “cancel culture” differently than most people. If you say or do something fukked up at your job, you deserve the consequences that come with it. What’s considered “fukked up” can be argued for another day. What I don’t like is when people try to dictate what others can consume. Punish the person. Let people watch or listen to whatever they want.

SUPPORTING Cancel Culture is the fukking trap..... The fukking trap is believing corporations actually care about you... They used to sell postcards with lynchings on them... Corporations flip flop within the same century... That means in 100 years they could go right back to selling postcards with lynchings on them, So why be a part of that shyt?


Also "Cancelling" was acceptable when it was women and gays... That's how they are supposed to act. The fact that black people(men included) are a part of this process just shows how fem our race is....

I’ll say it…I’m against it…now I’m all for catching racists, sexists etc…but the mob mentality is out of control imo…I remember when Kevin Hart had a tweet 10 years ago about not wanting his son to play with dolls because its gay…and the powers that be tried to end his career…it was nothing over the top, but it didn’t warrant this end his career type of response that it received…say you want but that shyt was straight up wrong imo…and the way they tried to do Chapelle was wrong too

also the meetoo movement is right up there…I’m all against harassment and abuse in work places …but this idea that you can claim that anyone 20 years ago said or looked at you a certain way and that alone could now end your career forever is just insane imo
