Whenever i used to hear Boyce and Yvette's videos, i used to always agree more with Boyce. I think because Boyce was talking about stuff i wanted to know more about. So i went and looked up some stuff he talked about (ETFs, small business ideas, passive income etc).

My pops is a good man and was always involved in my life, but he's a lot older and isn't that well-versed with technology like that. He's out of touch with a lot of stuff. So he never told me that kind of stuff. He's the "just hold onto that job until retirement" type of guy. Like a lot of the older generations. If i had listened to other black ppl who told me "don't invest, that's too risky" and "don't do that, what if you fail" "don't do that, it won't work" etc then i'd be in the same exact position i was in back then. I know we talk about entrepreneurship and investments on here, but i don't think yall realize how many black ppl are still fearful (or against) this stuff.
I'm not saying (and never said) that this would "close the racial wealth gap" but i'm saying if i had been opposed to learning ways to make money outside of a day job, then i'd still be making the same amount i was then. The more money i make, the more it helps me and my fam/friends

She has never been against investing as long as you are educated on whatever it is you are investing.

First let me say, i know we've had some beef on here before but as a man i can put that aside to talk about this so no problems with you bro.

I did admit in the OP that i'm not as worried about the collective as i used to be. My old threads on here, i used to be all about the collective, what i/we can do for the collective, etc. But i think within the past year or two, i've seen things that sort of made me realize that i can't do much for the collective. I'm not against it but i'm just not as worried about it anymore. I decided to just focus on my fam and i do still try to help other black people where i can.

I'm not where i want to be yet, but these things have DEFINITELY helped and things are looking much better. Because before i was just following the blueprint of just working a job, and wasting my disposable income.

Yvette isnt wrong. On paper, government intervention(not necessarily US Gov) is required to even out the inequality between races and invest in banking and infrastructure. This is how the gap was created in the first place alongside free slave labour and it’s the only way to reverse it.

“Model minorities” didnt just improve by hard work, they combined hard work with political lobbying and pressure to get a government bag. The issue is they’re owed far less than us.

However, in the mean time, everyone who has the knowledge and drive needs to focus on improving themselves and creating their own financial base. If a good percentage are taking care of themselves and their families then we’re good.

Brehs on here who are talking business should be linking up, investing and trying to get shyt popping instead of berating others.
