In the 80s, 90s and early 2000s you could be satisfied with some made up games to play outside, boardgames and card games, a game console, and some sketch books and pencil crayons.

Now a days kids seem to just not give a fukk as much and are content to be on tik tok or just sitting posted outside not really doing anything but waiting for the sun to go down like some of these dudes that be hanging outside the Bodega or 7 11. Sometimes these kids ARE the nikkas posted up out there not even doing anything like shooting dice or arguing about sports.

Nothing can ever beat newness ... & there will always be more newness that occurred in the past than currently in the present.

That being said in terms of having things , today's generation has it better.

Yes......with a caveat.

Example: My 3rd cousin is on the autism scale. Highly functional 5-year old. Gets all types of therapy/training to help him. Back when I was his age, he'd have been put in a 'special needs' class and ignored. The access to resources like that, IMO, is a game-changer.

OTOH, kids these days are mercilessly sheltered to the point they don't interact with one another outside of Social Media. When's the last time you saw a bunch of kids playing in a park or vacant lot/side street?

Of course they do. Having a PC was non existent when I was 7 years old. The fact that a kid can get a Nintendo Switch or a PS4/5 with hundreds of games to download for free is loads better than what was available in the past.

My nieces middle nieces are 13, 14, 15 all have iPhone X. I begged my parents for a sidekick as my ONLY gift and got socks. My first phone was a prepaid with Virgin Mobile I got my damn self.

This Christmas I threw them each $25 thinking it'll HOPEFULLY get them to the "big" $100 I was lucky to have. I'll be damned if they didn't tell me they each got $300 BEFORE even opening the gift cards :dahell:

My oldest niece... I can't even get into how spoiled she is :snoop: I'll start ranting for real
