Just make sure when you download ram that you dont download it from those shady sites that arent verified. The ram you download from there is called B-Ram, short for bad ram. Instead of making your computer faster it does the opposite.

I only download my ram from the apple site

Short answer: YES

I was a Windows domain/System admin as an intern and had to work desktop support as part of my duties. For average users I recommend an anti virus with any OS they use.

But overall if you know what you are doing and are careful you can run any OS without anti virus and should be fine tho it's not recommended depending on the types of sites you visit.

  • I had a Thinkpad X61 with Windows 7 and I ran it without Anti virus the last 18 months I had it with ZERO problems
  • I ve had my macbook pro for a while and have never installed antivirus
