WTF? IDK I thought dude was black(mixed) never thought about it. You can't compare though how the fuk would we know? If a dark skinned black artist made the songs that i've heard from dude then yeah he'd get acclaim. I'm not going into the RIAA mindset and possible bias towards non black people IDC about the grammy awards I like the performances. I just looked it up dude is like Puerto Rican, Jewish and Filipino why the fuk would anyone prefer a "mutt" like that over a darker skinned black dude?

It’s a prominent award show. Gives exposure to his work and brand. Stating he’s seeking validation is a leap, though. Also, suggesting that he won’t make music like this again because he didn’t win a damn award is also left-field. What makes you think he doesn’t view this album as a success even without an award. If he goes a different direction artistically it’ll likely be related to him thinking he can make more money or him trying to hop on the latest wave.
