Do tires need to be changed even if you barely drive the car

Me and the homies just got into an argument about this

They were saying even tho I barely drive my car my tires still need to be replaced since I got them in 2019(Michellin)

I personally think they were hating

Yes, my mom barely drives and as a result, often needs tires changed due to dry rot on the rubber.

if your car sits for more then six months without moving you'll literally need to change your tires more often than if you drove your car like once a week.

if you don't drive your car very often the rubber will dry and crack before the tread wears down. shyt would up an explode on you one day while driving.

Depends. A tire dries out with time so you'll need to make sure that the grip is still ok. I'm guessing the treads are still fine but the rubber quality will start to fade at some point.

Max age for an unused brand new tire is 10 years so my guess for barely used tires is a 5 to 10 year window.

And if you don't drive the tires can dry rot or get flat spots from sitting too long, when the tires are used the oil compounds keep the tires from rotting and drying out. Old tires are prone to sidewall failure. Those tires look aight though
