sales of what? cocaine?

"sales" is even more generic than "IT"

a nikka at best buy selling tv's is in sales

Don't be obtuse. Career paths in sales whether B2B, D2D, B2C have high earning potential. SaaS, Insurance, Car. Medical, Charity, Solar, Garage, Window, Real Estate, Groupon, Energy, Solar, FMCG, Photocopies, Security, Heating systems,......it doesn't matter in as a long as the market exists & the demand is available you will make bank. Colloquially when someone says high earning IT they aren't talking desk jobs, same applies with sales .... store clerks or drug dealers aren't in the mix unless someone explicitly says so.

Usually people on the software and data side make that type of money like data scientist easily pull in 100k to start in NY.

well then the entire thread is being obtuse

nikkas went off "IT" and are making broad assumptions as to what it means. some nikkas listing IT management, some listing help desk, with all sorts of variance.

then you come in and make another blanket statement.. that you'd likely make more money in "sales" than "IT"

well now what are we talking about? insurance sales vs nikkas working on nasa computers?? or security sales vs help desk??

you made a vague statement then get at me for asking for clarity.. when your original statement included no clarity about IT either

SaaS, network devices(routers, switches, hybrids, telephony..shyt that space alone is fukking huge), servers, storage devices(even these have hybrids), printers, accessories,

OS/Database, Cloud Storage/Hosting, etc

The space is enormous.....I didnt think I had to come right out and specify

In fact just go look at the reddit sales group

There are people who make fukking bank selling used/decommisioned aircraft

I know a few folks getting 150k on the federal IT side. My homie just moved from storage to information security, and he's seen jobs paying 160k-180k. Hell, my mentor was clearing 200k on our last contract, and he was a systems/infrastructure/AD guy like myself. Especially with DOD and DHS, you'd be surprised the type of coin folks are pulling in

Now I understand why I often lose debates/arguments. People like you exist.
