Kind of a weird comparison. They’re different emcees. Gza is probably the most consumable abstract emcee whereas Nas is a story telling, paint a picture type of rapper. I mean in terms of rhyming words their both upper tier. But it’s hard to compare one another as they are a lot different imo.

GZA a crazy story teller too tho :whoo:

gza is one of my favorite lyricists and emcees
i've always thought lyrically he was the best out of the wu
but would u say he's on the same level lyrically as nas?
GZA's pen >
A debate I always have is which verse was better Verbal Intercourse or guillotine. Nas had the outstanding longer initial verse, BUT give prime GZA that beat he would've done the same.

They both can end a dude in a few bars or less so i'll say yeah. Both at the table but Nas is in a higher chair.

They're different rappers. GZA was wittier, Nas had more depth (introspection, better storytelling, more flows, etc). GZA has two great or classic albums (Liquid Swords and Grandmasters)....Nas has more than that.

GZA writes more intelligent lyrics. Nas writes more emotionally resonant lyrics.

Their styles are disparate, but I prefer GZA. He takes a scientific approach to every subject, whether it's the big bang or human nature.

Nas tends to take an emotional or sometimes ideological approach to his songs, which doesn't always work out because although he's a great poet, I don't think he's as intelligent as his peers like Jay, Prodigy, GZA etc.

“Nas approach doesn’t work”

Nas:
Six #1 albums
19M albums sold
4 classic albums
A consensus Top 5 rapper all time
