Do y'all think higher food prices will lead to people getting healthier by consuming less?

I'm sick of this tired talking point. Have you been through a drive thru lately. It's cheaper to cook actual food for yourself

calorie per dollar, unhealthy food is easily cheaper than healthy food. You are thinking cost per single meal. I’m talking cost per calorie and cost to feed 5. It is cheaper ESPECIALLY when adding the time value of money a working family with 2 kids has to spend grocery shopping and preparing dinner every day, to just hit a drive thru on the way home or order a pizza. There is no comparison.

Not at all, Americans don't miss meals and they want to feel full. If it comes down to spending more on Doritos or getting mixed vegetables they'll pay the premium.

The lockdowns did damage too, less people working out, continued fat positivity. Even got Fatmericans trying to claim the Dad Bod Pot Belly is better than a flat stomach, but I will never fall for that.

Although the exact causes of these differences in obesity are not all known,

Look I don't buy it. You can eat anything you want if you exercise enough. I don't believe it's just poor people only have poor food.
Look up fool deserts you silly shyt.

I had two weeks of lectures on this on college. I went to Rutgers, and outside of the university its a poor town. They didn’t have a proper supermarket until 10 years ago

people don’t have money to buy proper nutritious food, they can’t afford a gym membership. If they have a shyt job, they chances are they don’t have a college education. And if they don’t have that, chances are, they know nothing or very little of the food their consuming.

you feel so strongly about it, go on google and do your own research. But these aren’t blanket statements. Obviously what i’m saying doesn’t apply to every single person. But you’re wild if you think I’m wrong, and theres no other way for me to explain it you.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
No secret we live in a flabby-n-sick nation so I'll just get to the point.

Tyson Foods just had their earnings call and posted a beat, here is a major tidbet coming from the call:

So the question is, will people just eat these rising prices or will they look to consume less meat, find different ways to cook, eat less, eat takeout less, or go for foods with more efficient pricing (veggies/rice/etc) ? :jbhmm:

Given that most of the meat consumed today is just steroid-pumped BS anyway, maybe this will lead to a healthier nation or will people say fukk it and keep buying overpriced BS that killing them slowly anyway? :patrice:

Outta shape bruhs (no offense), how will y'all handle this? :jbhmm:

:yeshrug:

My groceries bill hasn't changed at all

I was going to use the term food desert in my post but after seeing some of the replies thinking that people not being able to afford groceries would somehow lead to more health I decided not to because I knew people fundamentally don't understand basic public health here.

This is the coli smh

nikka what? They selling 4,000 chicken nuggets for $1.99 and shyt at them fast food ass spots. That said, I agree that people do need to make more of an effort to cook more. And you don’t have to be fancy with it, but try to go shopping at Whole Foods and see how much that shyt cost. shyt be ridiculous. I mainly shop there though cause it’s a pretty healthy store. Would be much cheaper and easier to go to McDonald’s all the time like a lot of people do.

:duck: Fast food is not cheap like that anymore, anyone who eats it on the regular knows this.

Twenty McNuggets are going for 6.99 over here. That same Big Mac combo used to be like 5.49, now it's closer to 8 bucks.

But that doesn't support your narrative so I'm sure you've got the juelz waiting. :skip:
