Breh, you need to get out more. The doctrine of original sin as it is understood in the West was developed quite some years after the Biblical texts were written, and almost entirely in the West. That is why the Eastern church, including the original African churches, does not preach the doctrine at all and never has.

I think we always need to be careful with dogma that far outstrips its Biblical basis. When talking about how we should act, we need to really hash things out and be sure on our foundations. But when talking about more hypothetical things such as the nature of the Trinity or the meaning of Original Sin, you end up talking a lot more about Latin/Greek intellectual reasoning than anything certainly from God.

You can stop right there with the dishonest nonsense. The orthodox tradition is very much Paulinian, and one can use the epistles attributed to him and see how folks like Augustine employed Saul's writing as a means of justifying his manufactured philosophy. So whether you are in the Eastern or Western tradition matters not, its still a part of the doctrine.

I dont care about all the sophistry and/or pseudo-intellectual theological babble....well see in the eastern tradition they interpret it as ancestral sin, and see Augustine extrapolated upon that and got original sin. I wish you all would stop it with the boo boo

Breh, you jumping all over the place and I can't even exactly tell what you are trying to argue. The Eastern Orthodox and Western views of original sinInstead of using names and references to denote your objections (names which obviously can have very different meanings in different contexts), why don't you just spell out what your actual objection is?

Your initial claim was that Jesus Christ would despise people wearing the cross to remember him by. This obviously isn't just against the Pauline tradition but would completely oppose all that we know of Jesus from the gospels themselves. So can you explain that objection?

Why talk about suffering?

This is the comment you initially had issues with, @IVS . Can you explain your objections to that statement? It's obviously true whether or not you believe in the doctrine of original sin.
