Do you believe in aliens?

Aleenz?

  • Of course. We can't be entirely alone in this big ass nowhere on some Twilight Zone ish

  • Of course not. If they exist then why ain't we seen them properly? Why hide and flash lights?

  • They've been here. Stay woke

  • Something else (please specify)

"heaven" is translated as firmament in Genesis 1 rather than Asgard

Circular reasoning has NOTHING to do with math. Here's something you haven't considered: we are the only ones that made it, or, we are the only ones left (for those unfamiliar with the Filter).

Declaring something a certainty when there is no evidence supporting it, not even math unless you make a TON of assumptions that are philosophical, doesn't make something mathematically impossible.

Each hypothesis is equally valid until shown otherwise, thus, we don't know.
How could I not have considered that we are the only ones that made it when that is the whole point of mentioning the filter in the first place? We don’t have proof either way, I’m not invalidating your point that there is no proof, but once again based on the fact that we are here means the universe is tuned for life.
we dont know this, we dont even know whats in the ocean

hell its arugable that we dont really know everything on the ground

so the question about aliens is from a POV of hubris

to me, animals, grasses and trees all the wildlife you think of...are the real aliens. But we think in terms that makes it difficult to see how this could be possible
Humanity is full of Hubris to begin with, that’s why Stephen Hawking was opposed to SETI because we don’t know their intentions, we’re assuming they are going to be as diplomatic as we would like or possibly less intelligent rather than hostile. I mean hell we sent them all they needs to know about us and our coordinates on the Golden Record, we’re just flesh bags ripe for the picking.

whats even wilder is that the space SETI might not be the SETI that we should be concerned with but this Seti

say perchance he is praying to his "higher self" and Dreamworks pictures did that for him...how could that influence reality? @DoubleClutch @010101

But one weak link can break the chain of a mighty dynasty!
~ Pharaoh Seti I to Rameses, also the same quote that lead to Rameses' decent into villainy.
The Hebrews grew too numerous. They might have risen against us. (Moses: Father, tell me you didn't do this.) Moses… sometimes, for the greater good… sacrifices must be made.
~ Seti I admitting the massacre of Hebrew children to Moses.

in the movie...they did depict the burning bush and there is an explicit directive to not do such a thing :jbhmm:

Goals

Ensure that he stays in power (even if it meant the execution of thousands of innocent children; succeeded until his death).
Pass the thrown to Rameses as Pharaoh. (succeeded).
Enslave the entire Hebrew people into working forever in Egypt to build his pyramids and the empire of Egypt and not let them escape. (failed through his son Rameses)

He was voiced by Patrick Stewart, who also played King Goobot in Nickelodeon's Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, King Buffo in the Courage the Cowardly Dog series, Dr. Jonas in Conspiracy Theory, Rafe Bentley in Masterminds, the Master of the Hunt in Futurama, John Bosley in Charlie's Angels, Darcy Banker in Green Room, and Avery Bullock in American Dad!.

Because you keep dismissing the WHOLE hypothesis and use circular reasoning rather than evidence to do so.

You aren't invalidating it by.......trying to invalidate it using a fallacious philosophical argument.....?

I keep coming back to the same point, based on all the reasonings I’ve presented, the likelihood of there being life is more plausible than not. That is simply a fact. If we are here why wouldn’t there be others? When has there been only one version of anything in science?

science itself is a filter

it basically says. Logic and reason can explain all things. So things that cannot be explained logically or with reason are either ignored or the question is attacked that brought up the situation

That's more like it since before, you kept saying it was mathematically impossible, which is absolutely false. It is JUST as plausible that there is no other life in the Universe.
