I never said outlawed, but not the main focal point. Most of these religions don't even take climate change seriously. At least Pope Francis is bringing that issue to the forefront.


Also, people can be good or bad without religion.

It's was a neccessary placeholder that we utilized when we didn't have the answers to questions we presented ourselves (and probably a natural evolutionary response to having consciousness & intelligence, we won't know until we stumble upon another lifeform to compare and contrast) thats currently in the process of slowly being discarded. And soon will eventually be a memory in time (maybe a few centuries)


Fiction and all, there's a reason why there's no religion in Star Trek. There's no time for mythology when you have advance science and technology.

It helps to provide a basis for morals that sometimes can make up for lackluster parenting or a troubling environment.

Although, if there was a stronger emphasis on the legal system to kids growing up..that might also, or perhaps better, teach our youth right from wrong and there would be less conflict based on religion

I think this may be possible if things like AI and other relevant scientific topics actually take off. I think in current phase the human being is simply insufficient and there might be (I'd say there are) things that are purely beyond us. Because human beings prefer to have answers to all questions there will always be some type of belief. I think science should be pushed everywhere though just for everyone's sake

Christianity is a large component of most white supremacy ideology. Religion is dangerous because it can be used to justify otherwise evil actions as the "will of god".
See slavery, conquest under the guise of enlightening "savages", Islamic terrorist, etc

I think some people are so weak minded, they need something to believe in to make them, or prevent them from doing certain things. A lot more people would commit suicide or murder if they didn't think they were going to hell.

Before this turns into a religion hating thread, I will just say that removing God didnt work out well in Stalinist russia, communist Cuba or most recently in North Korea.. In the absence of a belief system the government will rush in to fill that void and that is where all the fukkery begins..
Religion can be a great force for good in many peoples lives it can also cause some people to blow themselves up..

But not believing doesn't excuse the Texas church killer (atheist) or atheist Stephen Paddock or atheist Chris Harper Mercer (oregon mass shooter), or Atheist Adam Lanza

The problems and the deplorable conditions of this planet are caused by people.

People will kill and cause wars regardless of religion. The most destructive and devastating wars had nothing to do with religion. If there is land and resources(oil, diamonds, and soon water) people will fight for it.
