I went to college with a ton of Indians: Gujaratis, Biharis, Mallus, Punjabis...all of em.

Mallus (Mayalam) were usually the most chill. Mostly darker skinned and a lot of them converted to Christianity centuries ago since they'd be stuck in the "Scheduled Caste" or Dalit category within Hinduism.

They weren't Black IMO, but definitely carried themselves more like a minority dealing with bullshyt.

The others? Most of em are no darker than the average Latino. Some look white/Mediterranean. Nothing remotely Black about them even if chill.

I knew colorism was legit because we had these darker skinned Indian girls, identical twins. Imagine a 5'0" version of Mya but with the complexion of Kelly Rowland. That's how the twins looked. Every light-skinned Indian dude I knew wanted to smash either twin....but they all said "nah" because the girls weren't interested in fukking around and the light skinned Indian dudes had no plans of bringing home darker skinned Indian women.

The colorism shyt is deep with them. The girls knew those lighter Indian brehs just wanted a dark skinned side piece to fukk around with. All of em thirsted after the lightest Indian girl in our year.....she was fine as fukk tho...so I understand....but they looked at her as marriage material compared to the twins.
