Do You Do Math in Your Spare Time?

So before I finished getting my AA I stopped at Calc, now that I have no school I don't do any math but I still have my calculus book. I've been debating just doing a few problems out of a section everyday and maybe going through the book teaching myself a bit more plus redoing the sections that I did awhile ago. I'm kinda trying to make sure that mathematics is something that I don't forget.

Some people like furthering their knowledge on a subject, it's a mental workout, it's like a puzzle. What's the difference between doing a crossword puzzle or sudoku other than the type of puzzle you're solving?

Yeah, fair enough. I'm all for people keeping their minds stimulated but once you've been down the rabbit hole like I have, there's no such thing as light mathematics to keep you stimulated lol.

I can't wait until I graduate and get into doing finance. I won't ever have to look at another numerical algorithm again

Well see, do you consider yourself a mathematician? Because at my old CC I had dudes who loved to do math and I mean they had done every type of math basically, and were now going into theory but they still thrived off of doing large problems.

Yeah, I consider myself a mathematician since it's always been my best subject which is why I chose to do it as my degree but I'm doing Financial Mathematics so it's all about using numerical algorithms and nonlinear systems to optimise stock portfolios and calculate financial projections.

When I graduate this year, I'm going down the career path of Financial Analyst/Trader. That's where the money is

Btw although I claim to want to be a teacher, being an architect was the first thing I wanted to be (never too late!) But I still just got my basic transfer degree anyway, but to be a architect you only need trig. I did college algebra and calc as well because I wanted the knowledge and I knew I could do it, it's not like my degree was even requiring me to; they just wanted 1 college level math class from me ad you that can be a million things easier than trig.
