He's an incredible rapper but his songs have no real substance and will be forgotten. He only has a handful of songs with any real meaning. Mostly just shock rap.

His early work was dope, Lose Yourself/8 Mile was dope. But he been pretty wack from what, 2003-2015? Dude fell off, shoulda stayed on the drugs.

I'm starting to see a lot of hate towards Eminem lately. I agree with thecoli that most of Eminem's popularity comes from him being white so he's more relatable to a larger audience. It's also pisses me off when people call him the greatest of all time but I don't think the guy is a medicore either. I think he's easily a top 20 rapper but at the same time I think he's overrated too. Like I see him as a top 10 rapper of all time, but he doesn't crack my top 5.

So what is the booth perception of Eminem? Do you guys hate him or just think he's vastly overrated?

He's got great technical skills, which is the most overrated criteria from which to judge a rapper IMO.

Good songs, great delivery, emotion, soul, all these are more important than the amount of syllables you can jam in a bar. I don't watch movies for the cinematography, I watch them for the emotion. I don't listen to music for the technical prowess, I listen for feeling.
