Eh. When Meek Mil had a HUGE buzz with Dreamchasers 2 and could have REALLY could've popped with "Dreams & Nightmares" (maybe even more than GFID :patrice:), they drop a Kirko Bangz single, completely different from Meek's brand up till that point. Then Ross dropped that :trash: "Black Bar Mitzvah" mixtape just a week or two before D&N. His first week was 165k, respectable for a debut, but no reason he couldn't have done better after how crazy his buzz was.

I still think they systematically lowered his buzz just so he wouldn't outshine the master :mjpls:

Meek Mill had a buzz amongst dusty nikkas who don't support shyt. Nobody who really like raps , really like Meek Mill.

Guy released a great album yesterday, is extremely talented with real substance to his music, and people still find a way to hate on him.

but that's the price everyone has to pay to get on. i think ross saw potential in meek and got him out the streets quick. showed him the life...you gotta pay a toll for that. but tbh, i think meek's debut was right on target. i really liked that single with Kirko...it was different...but he needed that. remember, when BIG was getting started he didn't want to do those commercial records like Juicy and Big Poppa. Puff pushed him to do them purposely to get him out of that street comfort zone. ross is smart. he knows the og supporters of meek are street nikkas that cop mixtapes, not albums...at least not on time. he knew that for meek to get that commercial buzz under his belt, he would need to do that type of record.

Rule #1 in the 48 Laws of Power is "Never Outshine The Master"

I mean, I see what you're saying about him possibly needing commercial single. I can chalk that up to just a bad choice. But :rudy: at Ross dropping a TRASH mixtape right before Dreams & Nightmares

That "wack mixtape" also featured Weak Mills single.

I thought putting that song on the mixtape was basically an excuse - like "Yeah I'm dropping a mixtape...but I put his single on there, so it's all good!"

Oh well though. I wouldn't say Meek flopped, just thought he could've done better.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Why would he admit that even if he were/ Law school don't pay for itself. And he was a cose of ethics to adhere too. So even if he were a kingpin in the past, he wouldn't cop to it.

But again career paths prove nothing. You so called nigggas hate white people bunching yall together, yet yall can lump someone into a real or fake nikka based on nothing.

Nobody has a record until they have a record. Plenty of people work legit jobs and still sell dope for various reasons.

brother i'm going off what was said... the way it was put... "my boy is an assistant prosecutor... does that make him a fukk nikka?"

NO IT DOES NOT.. that man has a career and is doing well for himself.. do i know if he sells drugs?? no i do not.. do i know if he does dirt?? no i do not..

but i'm pretty damn sure if you are making 10 mil a year off coke (an actual rick ross quote while not on the mic) then you probably ain't a damn prosecutor or a c.o.

you making 10 mil... not THIS year... A year.. every year you stack another 10 mil.... then wake up and go lock nikkas up.. lock nikkas in they cell... sit around doing case files and research and court dates and shyt... and in the meantime you happen to make a cool 10 mil a year on coke..

yea i highly doubt that.. this ain't breaking bad.. and even that nikka owned 16 other businesses.. he wasn't a worker making 30k a year while also making 10 mil a year.. come on now

Dmv nikkas hate period I know I'm from there :pachaha:

Wale is corny as a person but he's a good artist.

People don't know when wale wasn't shyt how much he put local acts on. nikkas be ungrateful as shyt.

Lol no bullshyt outoftowners just dont understand the complex crab in barrell mentality nikkas have out here.......idc if he was some super relatable gangsta trap rapper nikkas would have found something to hate or use against the man....I agree though nikkas in the area just weren't ready for a cat to shine with his style and persona..with that said his support has definitely grown a lot since he first came on the scene, mostly cause of consistency, his effort to put on local cats and overall surrounding himself with the right people...

PG x MD
A lot of this is true, but I'll say that the DMV shyt is gaining more traction out here, even with city dudes because of the amount of people being dumped in PG and VA because of imment domain and gentrification and shyt like that. The difference between a average nikka from PG and an average dude from DC is shrinking because there's a hell of a lot more cross pollinization than there was in the past. Back in the day while DC was dodge city there were only a handful of areas out Maryland that were legitimately thorough, now the shyt is more than a little bit different with the amount of movement from people from the inner city into those areas. Plus, even back in the day I had cousins around the metro area and a lot of people inside the city do too, so there's a lot of affinity all around here anyway.

Yo, what's funny is alot of PG nikkas used to fake like they were from the city (I seen this too much in high school, nikkas talkin about they from uptown or some other DC hood). One of my mans that goes to Towson told me it's nikkas that go there from Mo County that fake like they from PG, that really left my head scratching.

Yea i always thought he was ok in the beginning but im official a fan now the boy grew up.

I should rephrase that i actually has all his mixtape but never listen to them until his first album dropped.

A bad habit i have when a ton of music drops sometimes i forget then randomly will listen to an artist who catalog.

Man i remember when nikkas was saying he couldnt spit and then this dropped nikkas was like :ohhh:

:ohword:

and i love this shyt

I know this for a fact nikka.

Selling out shows in a region≠ that region loves you.

Gucci Mane gets 10x the love Wale does in DC.... Wale still isn't on Trey Songz level of love in the city.

Wale been getting hated on by DC,PG and MoCo nikkas since "Dig Dug" :russ:

When I lived in Baltimore, the DC stations played that Gucci and Trey Songz "Beat It Up" 100 times per day :lupe2:
