Do you have a good reason to believe in god?

Sorry but you don't even have to have a degree in the science to know there is more to the world that what can be physically observed. Can you confirm this is what you actually mean? Or are you just kidding?
the physical universe is matter and energy. there isn't anything else beyond that. by physical i don't mean 'what you can see' or' what you can observe'.

False, sorry but all you have to do is read a scientific journal and see - when a baby grows a brain- that doesn't mean it now has consciousness (meaning its a living separate person). You can have your opinion but it is scientifically inaccurate.
what is your definition of consciousness? consciousness is awareness of surroundings and self.
which of these have consciousness bacteria, nematode worm, salmon, dog, chimpanzee?

how about you provide some evidence of consciousness without a brain?

so you don't believe in energy? is that really science? you would deny that human beings are a source of ENERGY too?

when you unplug your tv from the wall you think that electric energy just disappears? of course not, it just returns to its source. the tv just taps into it.

who knows what kind of energy us human beings are tapped into, but when we're unplugged I don't see how that energy could just disappear.
physical = matter and energy.
the energy in your body is electro chemical. in the same way that battery is chemical based. when the chemical matter goes, so does the energy.
regardless, this energy is not a 'soul'

The law of Conservation of Energy states that "Energy cannot be created or destroyed".

In other words, the total amount of energy in the universe never changes, although it may change from one form to another. Energy never disappears, but it does change form.

speaking of energy. energy can neither be created or destroyed. It can only change from one format to another. This is in every science textbook. It's a law of science. Yet if something can never be created or destroyed that means that thing has existed and will exist for all of time as we know it. This has always felt like science describing a supreme being in some way. How can something be uncreateable and not destroyable? Sometimes I feel like energy itself is what we can scientifically point to as evidence of a supreme being. Of course our understanding of it is still limited.

in order for something to have an end it must have a beginning.

no one here can remember the day their life started.

why don't you tell me about the first week you were alive? what do you remember?

But there is also no evidence disproving that that the spirit mind and soul continues to live after the physical body dies. It goes both ways. As a previous poster said, both theories of what happens after we die require faith because neither theory, belief, or whatever you want to call it, can be proven
this is not how logic works. people can't disprove things that are non falsifiable.

the burden of proof is on the soul believers to provide evidence of existence which they never have.

No its not physical. Just like fear is not physical. Its a concept. That's why there is not single definition of what it is - meaning its not a process, its relative.
ok so provide an example of something loving something else that didnt have a physical body?
