Nikkas claiming to be getting money and about they issue, but can't relate to 40?
:what:

40 is a true Hip Hop artist in the mold of a Slick Rick with the story telling, and been putting Nikkas up on game waaaaayyy before this rap shyt got turnt up, then turnt out.

His music is Mobb Music, orginal trap shyt for Nikkas on the turf. The best part about it, the shyt he spits is relevant as fukk, and if you can't relate then that says more about you than him...

E-40 has never been independent, I wish dumb people would stop saying that. My Ghetto Report Card was a major label release with full promo and everything.
:what:

He was independent for YEARS before he signed to Jive/Zomba. He sold albums like Federal out the trunk of his cars and in barber shops ect.

IN A MAJOR WAY was his first project on a MAJOR label.

Man, 40 been rappin on Sick-Wid-It since 88'-89' but the og distribution came thru City Hall records... By 93'-03' Jive & WB came lookin for him cause they knew some shyt was goin on up in the Yay and 40 was one of those reasons..Why u think Federal, Mailman and the 1st Click album came back remastered?? 'Cause Fonzarelli got so many hood classics his new fans just heard about, they wanna do the knowledge and get his ol skool shyt

THIS!!

His uncle St. Charles helped him get into record stores in his early days cause his uncle had a local Gospel record label.
But it's known 40 would go ANYHWERE and slang his tapes/CD's.

I can't believe it's people on this website saying one of the GOAT indie hustlers was never indie :mindblown:

40 and Too $hort are bay area pioneers when it comes to hustling tapes and CD's

It's one thing to say you don't like his style but the OP talking about he don't understand the lyrics... How the fukk you gon make value judgments about music you don't even understand to begin with smh.

I'd go so far as to say if you don't understand what E-40s talking about, there's no way in hell you understand 90% of any grimey street lyrics period. You can't really be able to understand songs like "Broken English" or rappers like Raekwon, Cormega or even dudes like Doom who mix the street shyt with the pop culture references and be talking about you don't understand e-40 at the same time. nikkas be exposing themselves lol
Badly.

"The hell is yola supposed to be? :wtf: Elroys? This nikka talkin about the Jetsons? :mindblown: This shyt wack brehs :mjlol:"

I Always looked at E-40 as the west coast version of Ghostface

A lot of brehs especially outside of up North don't rock with Ghost
because they just didn't understand or rock with his style

I put E-40 in that same category
Pretty much...but what's really funny is E-40 is easier to decipher than Ghost but look who gets all the "props"....cornball nikkas dont understand either and just go with whoever the crowd rocked with at the time :russ:

They just don't know breh. In the 90s the South, West, and Midwest were a big musical family.

Cats in the South loved Deathrow, Ice Cube & Mack 10,Too Short & E-40, C-Bo, Bone Thugs, Dayton Family, Do or Die, Twista, etc. The West and Midwest loved Scarface, UGK, DJ Screw,Three 6 Mafia, early No Limit, Eightball & MJG, etc.

That's why so many of these artists stayed collabin' and touring in each other's cities.

Breh, they don't know about that Southwest Riders album or how necessary it was:wow:

If compilations counted it would be in discussion for goat double disc...Rap game is long overdue for another one actually:banderas:...Matter of fact the way the rap game is set up,nikkas would do better by joining forces and combining they good songs together to make a great album/mixtape since they wanna drop all this free music.

Rap Pages – "...a 28-song rainbow of gangsterism lifestyles..."[5]

RapReviews – "...over 54 rappers combining for a near perfect double album. A few weaker tracks prevent this compilation from being flawless...Even 11 years later this compilation is still worth the price of admission. Perhaps mere coincidence or possibly a testament to the...scouting talent, you'll find that the bulk of the contributors are still dropping albums and still relevant in the game."[6]

The Source – "...a fitting introduction to some of the lesser known hustlers on the grind....Southwest Riders is a double album that is sure to satisfy long-time reality rap fiends..."[7]
