Belize King
I got concepts of a plan.
Do you see blackjack as luck or skill? I see poker as skill albeit still gambling because you don’t control the cards. Blackjack…Exactly.
I remember starting out with 5dimes and having to use Western Union to deposit there. Then I was able to send crypto. Now, you have numerous books in every state at the tip of your finger.
Anywhere I go now, people are just talking about their “big parlays”, which are the dumbest bets you can do and why I’ve lost a good amount on them. I’m actually probably not down THAT much on sports betting over the years. I’m wayyyyy down on blackjack.
It only gets worse for people if they end up getting a higher paying job. You start taking more chances with larger amounts and you end up chasing. It happens to almost everyone, and anyone that says it doesn’t happen to them is likely lying.
I remember when I used to do $10 and $20 bets. Then I’ve had years where I was doing $500-1,000 per bet. Then I’ve had times where I was putting $5,000 down on bets. Won some, got smoked on some. I’ve toned it down in terms of how much I’m betting on an event now, but even the small amounts add up because you look at each one individually and then realize that a bunch of small ones is not a small amount at all.
I remember when I used to wager higher amounts on blackjack that I was doing $500+ on hands. That doesn’t include splitting and doubling down. Had some great days and nights, but the house always wins. Takes one bad streak and then not having discipline to fukk you up.
If you know all the plays, can you consistently win? I never got deep into it so I considered it as entertainment.
As far as sport betting, I consume a lot of content. I had 5 fantasy basketball teams going some seasons. I dabbled during the western union days. I have some money in a Bovada from 10 years ago. I bet maybe 5 times since then. I guess I prefer something I think I have “control” over.
