Coming back to this thread after watching HBO and Netflix’s documentaries on the festival:

The ONE young cac on the planning staff for the festival KEPT trying to put the old ass organizers in charge (who had no idea who any of the bands were) on game to the bands, what type of audience they would attract, and telling them that it would be a powder keg waiting to blow. The organizers kept hitting the young cac who knew what he was talking about with the :camby:

So they were put on game well ahead of time and just said fukk it :dead:

I was at the '94 Woodstock. Only stayed for the day though. I saw the infamous mud people that got Hep C from the porta potties spilling over into the mud they were playing in. By the time we got there the fences were already down and in the bushes. Getting in was being part of the largest and slowest bumrush ever.

My former boss is a huge Nine Inch Nails fan (which is funny cause she’s a Karen), and she said she tried to go to Woodstock 94 to see NIN and couldn’t cause of school. She said she saw it on PPV and was salty cause she would’ve been in “hippie paradise” :dead:

Speaking of NIN, that legendary picture of Trent after his WS 94 set :wow:

A few things about 1999 after watching the documentaries:

I can’t put it all on Limp Bizkit like I did earlier in the thread, they were paid to do a show and they did a typical LB show. The crowd was already riled up and pissed off and LB was the match that lit the fire. LB’s guitarist Wes Borland (the dude with the weird outfits) was asked to be on the HBO doc but he declined cause he felt he didn’t need to reminisce on a horrible time where folks were put in a shytty situation with shytty conditions and were taken advantage of by the promoters and the rapists

*crowd is pissed off about being fleeced on prices of basic human necessities like food/water and they’re in 100 plus degree weather thanks to the tarmac*
*LB performs “Break Stuff”
*Pissed off crowd actually started breaking shyt*
Organizers: “why are they destroying stuff” :mjcry:
Like how could you NOT see that happening? :dead:

After reading about Moby being a sex creep and having  tendencies (he was 30+ trying to get with an underage at the time Natalie Portman), his remarks in the HBO doc look funny in the light

The PPV Producer dude said in the Netflix doc that he literally was given no rules on what he could and couldn’t film, so he had his team get the WILDEST shyt on camera and the crazy cacs there knew it was going on PPV and not MTV so they families wouldn’t see all the wild shyt they wound up doing on camera. Like I said earlier, the WS 99 organizers are incredibly lucky that there were only 3 PPV providers (Viewer’s Choice aka iNDEMAND for cable/DirecTV and Dish had their own PPV arms) at the time cause even 2 years earlier when there were more PPV companies (Request TV, TCI, and quite a few local cable companies did their own PPV arms back then), those other companies would have wanted their own production people there in case they had to censor shyt and/or pull the plug early like they did with UFC AND ECW at the time
