As a Brazilian: American black music (which pretty much covers all modern music genres), African(any country) and Jamaican music.

Not a big fan of Afro-Hispanic music tho :mjpls:

Sahelian Blues and Kora music is incredible. I love listening to Tamikrest, Tinariwen, Soubour, Amadou and Miriam, Issa Bagayogo, Bambino, Toumani Diabate, Ali Farka Toure, etc. They are great musicians. I can't understand their languages but their musical abilities is off the charts and similar to the great American Blues men.

then you need to hear Juan Luis Guerra. He uses every style of music he can attempt. Literally put bachata on the map.

(sounds happy as fukk, but nah, this is a protest song)
