i have one but i only use it for gaming and downloading. everything else i do on my laptop or tablet.

Just a preference, honestly. I like the bigger screen to get work done instead of a smaller screen. Desktop screen is 21 inches.
next one im buying is 27 inches

Getting myself a Mac Book Pro just for personal use, but Im still keeping my HP Pavilion desktop until it gets 
. The desktop gonna be for work and backup. I like the ease of use for Windows 7 and bigger monitor helps also.

i see, that makes sense. i prefer a laptop now but i guess it depends on the type of work you do. one thing i do like about desktops are dual monitors
once you get that, you can't go back.

I also have a Macbook. Used to use it for music and other media projects my brother and I would work on. However it's battery is gonna need servicing soon, so I've taken a lot of the load off of it.

I have 2, a Dell XPS with blu-ray burner and 4 TB's of storage, and another one that I'm building inside a Antec case. I really couldn't see me kicking my desktop to the curb, I like building a pc to my specs and currently I can't do that with anything other a desktop.

I just bought a new one recently after having my Dell 8400 for over 10 years. They are dirt cheap, powerful, and great as media hubs. I use mines mainly to download movies & TV Series and HDMI them shyts straight to my TV.
The price to performance compared to laptops these days is crazy.
I have two desktops. One in the bedroom and one in the living room. The bedroom one is mostly for web surfing on the TV or watching video files. The living room one is mostly for gaming.
I have a powerhouse gaming desktop, a desktop 10 terabyte server housed in a closet for all my media, and an HTPC in the living room.
