Yea, my ole lady had a c-section. I needed to be home for those 3 weeks. Didn’t get much sleep, but I’m glad for the option. Me and baby girl bonded. I was up when she got up, would rock her to sleep a lot, and I had to help her mother get around the house and take her to her appointments.

I was glad to get back to work after them 3 weeks, though lol.

My woman had a C-Section. She could barely walk. I was making the bed, tidying the place, spraying the place with lavender, making her food...

I don't care if that's not considered manly.
. It's caring...

Same with my second born...I was a damn butler for 3 people and a dog. shyt sucked at times but it's what needed to be done as a father and I wasn't having no inlaws show up to do what I easily could .

For a newborn at that

What does the coli think?
Maternity leave isn't about you, it's about the baby. An newborn infant needs 24 hour care. Even when they are sleeping you gotta keep an eye out that they don't vomit and choke to death or some shyt.
And your wife/baby mother just got out the hospital after being torn in half. She might need to rest some during the first few weeks.

:snoop: Some folks need serious emotional help, I swear.

To answer the OP, though, your lady may need you a lot during those first few weeks. It can be hard to just get up and walk after giving birth, and that is assuming the birth was sans complications.

The baby is at the complete mercy of the adults around him/her and how fast they move and how competent they are.

The mother will need help, in deed. This is usually why the ladies in the family will come by to help for those first few weeks...

So that can either be you helping her or your in-laws.

fukk manly...it's fatherly to take off work. Some of yall nikkas man :snoop:

How about it's fatherly be the sole provider since my wife gave birth for over 9 yrs now so my kids didn't have to suffer thru randoms raising them. I am a father everyday when I get home from work and the weekends.

But nah me working isn't fatherly. I'm sure it's better to be lazy and take a couple paid weeks off from a job u can't support a household on...

That's commendable breh, but it's also the route yall both chose so I'm not mad at it at all :ehh:

You could also argue that you had plenty of time to prepare to be off work to care for your fam in that specific instance...that you also didn't disclose in your post homie :usure:.
Don't get mad that folk took that post for what it was, seeing as how some posters be on some fukk shyt on this board :mjlol:
