Do you think the shopping mall could ever make a comeback?

It seems to me that the only real downside to shopping at a physical store is the long line to pay for your item.

The downside to online shopping is that you have to wait for shipping. And possibly not knowing if you ordered the right size (when buying clothes)

But if they can make the retail experience similar to how Amazon makes their grocery stores…where you can avoid lines and pay thru a store account (or Apple Pay or something similar) I think more people would prefer to buy things in person.

Or do you think malls are dead and never coming back?

I mean from an environmental perspective all this online shopping can’t be good…with all the planes and trucks needed to deliver things polluting and all that.

Nope. It's 100% over.
We're going to be telling future generations about these malls like they were a relic of a time now completely gone.

A lot of that experience was built around socializing/entertainment. Modern people have different ways of seeing things and filling their time so its about as likely to comeback as VHS rental.

I'm confident the malls I've visited the most outside of my city will survive(Easton in Columbus, Galleria in St. Louis)

A mall I went to for the 1st time about 8 yrs ago in Chesterfield, Missouri, is damn near a ghost town. Most traffic it sees now is the amc theater and cheesecake factory
