I'm not taking this seriously until we legit talk about black infrastructure.

Set up a gofundme to buy one cornerstore and make it black.

All this assimilation is getting us nowhere.
What's up with all these black kids wanting to be like white suburbanites or hipsters?
With the vans, band ts, tight jeans, thrasher hoodies...
I skate too but the shyt is wacksauce.
I remember when I was younger and grew up in the burbs I kind of adhered to that thing cause I felt it made me "different" from other black people...
Then the older I got I started to embrace black hood culture more...and started hanging out around more black people...and started having more pride in my blackness, family, and heritage...

And (in the process) started to distrust/loathe whites more.
shyt I go to black barber shops.
Eat at black spanish restaurants
I absolutely loathe white American "culture" now and have no desire to even be near them like that now.
Before I used to be the token black guy before I moved to NYC.

I wish we would appreciate how great we are of a people.
I love black people dammit!
Sure, we are black no matter what we do and what we wear...but in my time living in NYC I realized the grass isnt' greener on the white side of the lawn...I just wish we could have more self-sustaining black communities independent of whites. I just wish black peopel didn't aspire to move out of the hood to the burbs. I feel welcome in NYC. I never felt welcome out where my family lives. I feel I'd have cops called on my ass for washing my car where my family lives cause it's so goddamn white and xenophobic. I would love to live in a black version of that suburb I grew up in., I'd love for my kids to grow up in that too.

@Easy-E we need to do better than fake shutting down companies via social media through series of whiny posts...that shyt is embarassing.

The shea butter incident made me realize 95% of black twitter are overemotional clowns. Made me hate black liberals dammit. Why do these cats all look the same? They all got that same non-threatening hip negro look with the knots, fro or dreads, glasses, too colorful clothes, and they look like you would have to block them or else they're in your mentions all day typing a think piece for huffpo black voices....white boyfriend or girlfriend...shops at whole foods. Complains about everything their lifestyle contradicts.

:mjlol:

Black people need to stop writing for these white owned pubs thinking they doing something, infact I'm sick of the thinkpiece mafia altogether.

Race consciousness has always come and gone in cycles.....hit a fever pitch in the 1920s with the pan-africanist movement, resurgence in the 50s, then came the 70s, a lil comeback in the early 90s, then the mid 2010s to where we are now. Won't be long til it's time to repeat again. Get ready to buss your Kufi's back out in 2035 brehs

I really feel like in the 90s it was a mix up, but very potent. If it wasn't for 9/11 I wonder what could have been.
