If LBJ could be forced to basically give up the presidency, so can Trump. I don’t see how Trump makes it four years. What’s happening currently is unsustainable, and whether people recognize it or not—he is losing support among his most ardent acolytes daily. People are already mad af and we’re a month in.
There’s some threshold, I’m not sure what it is: cutting Medicare, Social Security, etc. that Trump is going to be idiotic enough to do, and it’s going to be the crossing of the proverbial rubicon. If history has taught us anything, it’s that even demagogues can be toppled.
It’s just going to take that one thing where people are like, okay, fukk this. I’m pretty sure I saw the other day that Trump has the lowest approval ratings in his first 30 days of an administration in polling history.
This shyt is not going to last.
The unfortunate thing is that this period—whether it’s a year or two years is going to have long-term ramifications on this country.
