See there's a difference between a great actor and a great movie star.

Will is a great movie star but he doesn't deserve to be mentioned with the great actors.

He said it himself, he'll only do a movie if he thinks it'll be a big commercial success. He's afraid of risks and working with maverick directors. So I can't really respect him. He's got more money than God but he's still chasing cheques and box office. He's not a true artist.

Again this is why I made this thread.
No doubt he is a successful movie star.
But I think people are getting tired of "Will Smith Movies" and he needs to take risks.
I think he has the ability to, but chooses to take cookie-cutter roles.

I don't think so. Will is a bankable star that makes movies people across the world love. He always plays the good guy and never deviates.


I won't say his time has passed but it's time for the new black talent, ie Michael B Jordan.

@ the bolded. Jamie Foxx is debatable but Eddie Murphy? Idris Elba? Not a knock on their acting abilites but Will is a skilled actor. His choices of movies/directors are the problem if you even want to call it that.
