A new spin off has been announced
An animation aimed at pre-school age children. I think this is a good idea somewhat. The original run was hugely popular with all ages of children and if you were to ask RTD, Moffat, Chibnall and the likes, they would all tell you they have memories of watching it at a very early age.
I can barely figure out what goes on these days at times so I can’t imagine that younger age group getting much out of the show now.

The BBC is looking for a production company to create and produce the series, which will run independently from the main show
