Anything that close has to go to the runner. Tie goes to the runner right? I really don't know how the umpire felt 100% that the throw beat the runner. It was a Hollywood call for the no hitter cuz the umpire new if he called him safe and he wasn't really safe he'd be semi-Jim Joyce status so in his mind Dee Gordon was out before the ball even got there.
