having a skill and performing that skill doesn't mean you're working harder. some people are way too ego driven behind what damn job they have. I would imagine a lot of EMTs start out making somewhere in the $25k range and they have a lot of skill and i would say they are comparative to doctor. and on top of that they have to do a lot of this medical shyt in the field in hostile environments. Just an example.

Yes it is skill, what are you even debating right now, OP specifically mentioned a doctor
Being a doctor isn’t a skill? Being an engineer isn’t a skill? Lawyer? Accountant?
I don’t think people understand the full scope of the workforce making 100k. Which is why people always go to the same generic shyt, “lawyer” “accountant” “engineer”

there’s a bunch of 100k+ a year jobs that don’t even require education.

my uncle is a District manager at party city making 130 a year and that MF can barely read. And his job which he’ll tell you himself is largely delegation and macro management. Making sure everyone does their job and doesn’t fukk up. Emails, and meetings, but that’s it.

I’m an actuary. I send emails, pass along data, zoom meeting, and get quarterly performance checks and I’m en route to 120 this year, doing nothing.

Ive always felt that way because the toughest jobs I've ever had were low paying jobs.

Now I get paid in the high six figures but it feels like I'm cheating the system :yeshrug:

But like someone said earlier, I get paid for what I know.

Lol what system? The one that enslaved black people?

Yes being a surgeon is much much harder. They are always running on little sleep and using your brain for 16 hours straight trying no to kill someone is very exhausting.

A chess player can burn 6,000 calories a day. Slow people don't understand how tiring actually using your brain can be.

Corporate propaganda really is powerful. And most of the time it comes from people not in it.
If you work in corporate America you know there’s a bunch of low skill dumbasses running around. Don’t let them suits and ties fool you.

it’s filled with dumbasses, legacy hires, good references and nepotism.

You should see some of the emails and memos these high level execs put out when it's not an assistant doing it lmao. You would swear some are retarded.

i'm just saying they do perform medical tasks to keep people alive in hostile environments. I wouldn't say a person keeping somebody alive after a car accident in 30 degrees on the side of the highway is "unskilled". So i would compare that to a doctor. cuz people like to frame $25k salary as a burger flipper. And again, people too ego driven behind a job title. :yeshrug:

i think your paralegal comparison might be more like a nurse to a doctor, than an EMT to a doctor.

Corporate got the general public tricked with all this “high skill = high pay”, and the general public ends up doing all the free PR for big corp. in reality these positions are gatekept for who’re folks to be shoehorned in while being dumbasses. So many people that I work with right now, are 100% “qualified” degree wise but also underprepared and inept when it comes to their actual skill set and ability. But they’re in these positions because the system has made it that way.

It’s a huge difference bruh…

You can become an EMT in a few months. It’s a very limited skill set, but still a skill nonetheless I agree. It’s not even close to what doctors have to learn and master. They don’t even belong in the same sentence.

It’s not even close to the shyt RNs have to know.
