Which type of auditors?

night auditor at a hotel or an internal auditor at a large financial company?

Throughout my work history as an auditor I never made less then 60K ever. It’s been up from there.

I meant it in jest mainly but I meant external auditors in public accounting firms. I’ve made solid money, but the late nights working on bullshyt to produce a 10-30 page report can be exhausting.

The way social media outlets -- and those out in their various fields -- tell it, the hardest/best workers make the lesser compared to leadership/decision-makers.

That said... no. I don't want to discredit any blue-collar type, but until a 25K worker has to make decisions on the daily with a "life or death" stipulation attached to it, I refuse to believe anyone has it harder than healthcare professionals.

yall keep trying to redefine the basic definition of "hard work". it's not about the "impact" or the "brain power" :mjlol: or whatever crap...hard work is always going to be hard work. yall still defining shyt based on ego and job titles. yall just automatically saying a 25k job is easy or it's not hard work because "the brain power doesnt blah blah blah". :mjlol: this thread really is showing how people view workers. like some of yall really sit around looking at people doing all these jobs in America calling them all lazy. while they're paving roads, teaching yall bad ass kids, draining yall septic tanks, building buildings, etc...yall like "that's not hard work though, they're not doctors" :pachaha:

the bolded is why the country is the way it is and why a lot of the younger generation don't view work the same as older generations. You won't get credit for shyt unless you at the top 5 percent as a doctor. fukk everything else.

and as a nikka that has been treated/helped by EMT's as well as having multiple surgeries from different doctor/specialists, I can say both save fukking lives and are needed. Both should be respected, but they're not.

so your use of EMT was a good example, because most people don't even think of them when they think of low wage labor. The people responsible for keeping you alive in emergencies so you can actually see a doctor is important, but let nikkas tell it, its on the same level as flipping burgers because of the pay rate.

just my humble two cents, but I feel where you coming from.

How do we define "hard?" :dame:

Is it harder to lift heavy shyt and be on your feet all day......or solve complex problems while sitting in a chair?

How hard does a family practice doctor work versus a neurosurgeon?

How hard does the neurosurgeon work versus the software engineer?

How hard does the software engineer work versus the hot shot attorney or the young investment banker?

I'd say the biggest difference between blue collar work and white collar work is that USUALLY, once you go home at a blue collar gig....that's it. White collar work can vary widely in terms of stress levels, how much you gotta work after hours etc. The job follows you more.

Blue collar is hard on the body. White collar can be worse because of stress....or easier depending on the environment.

Might lean white collar only because people can get paid mid 6 figs or higher...but walk away because of the stress and grind. If a warehouse worker was making $450k/year with full benefits...they would NEVER walk away from that shyt.

Does 36K offer you any decent type of living in KC? Never seen KC on any expensive City list.

36k you're still going to be basically check to check and sometimes needing a gig economy job or side hustle. just to live by yourself with no kids. but yeah there are places in america where people are working full-time hard working jobs making 25k.

Not trying to be an a$$hole but if those people have two arms and 2 feet and a functioning brain (no mental issues) they have the opportunity to make their situation better. As I say this there are many jobs nowadays that just need you know to show the skill and you are hired.

I live in nyc of all places and there are even people here who work full time 30K a year jobs and they would rather look for every recourse to live off of it instead of chasing the bag.

Oh I’ve heard external auditors from the big 4 say they are underpaid before

The amount of hours worked to produce a report aren’t really commiserate with the salary we are paid. Really, you aren’t really making decent money until you are a manager for a few years. Big 4 auditors work similar hours as lawyers while receiving a fraction of the pay.

One of the reasons why there is so much turnover :yeshrug:
