Baton Rouge is a solid city, IDK if its somewhere Id stay tho. Feels like a tourist jawn to me.

Savannah buzzing like that? iI thought all they got is country nikkas

I never been to Savannah. I think it should be more popular being on the coast and all, but Atlanta has a stronghold on GA. Folks think Atlanta is the only city in Georgia worth visiting

Breh I don’t even agree with LA making San Diego irrelevant.

SD Is at least equal to or better than LA on many levels

LA is just an overcrowded expensive hype machine created by the illusion of fame, and stardom.
nikka no one talks about San Diego. At all

I've always said Philly is a poor man's New York.

In terms of location, Philly is GOAT. 90 mins from NYC and 2 hours from DC. About 45 mins from Baltimore. Also, you get the "big city" feel of NYC (to a degree) but get the cost of living of Baltimore for the most part.

Philly is actually pretty dope :ehh:

Stop telling nikkas man :hubie:

There is a ton especially in the fairmount francisville section. Philly is coming up.

I think people's perception of philly is really antiquated. Philly today is much different than it was in 2008 much less 1998. That's not just gentrification tho a lot of the amenities have come as a result of that. A kid from the bottom in mantua can walk a couple blocks and play volleyball ON SAND near Drexel campus in 2018 :dead:
There's multiple ice skating rinks mostly used by BLACK people in the city now. Ice skating was something I only saw on tv as a kid, etc
I think the ease with which philly has handled made in America, the pope visit, the DNC convention, the NFL draft and now a SB parade with almost a million attendees shows it's a world class city

Until you ask people where they want to go and they don't mention the place, then that place is irrelevant. With that said, Charlotte and Boston

Everywhere...You never there.
:dwillhuh: ... Philly gettin love in here

:wow:

Damn what a difference a super bowl makes
:wow:

75 percent of Philly threads on here used to be about the dustiness of the city and its dusty inhabitants :mjlol:

Y’all dudes are worst than females :mjlol:

Chicago is the third largest city in the US bruh.

- The one of the most busiest airports in the world is in Chicago
-One of the most visited places in the world
- Willis Tower is the second tallest building in the US
- Lake Michigan is fukking awesome in the summertime

And I’m not even from Chicago. Tell em @Barnett114 @Marti

He had to be trolling ... Chi’s moniker has been “America’s Third City” ... and my personal favorite so far.

It’s a gritty, classic metropolis that still has traces of its industrial roots. Just a dope city.

A lot of these new growth million plus (and near milion plus) population cities are primarily sprawl and suburbs. Can’t ever compete with a classic metropolis.

...DC's population is steady growing while Philly and BMore is stagnant.

List of metropolitan statistical areas - Wikipedia

Profound observation low key that a lot of people will glaze over.

BMore is actually in the red... they’ve lost more residents than they’ve gained as of late.

Out of the the top 10 most populous cities in the U.S., Chicago and Philly have the lowest percent change of new residents moving in the city. But they’re still not in the red.

And while we’re at it, when it comes to new residents added, ALL of the old, historical, high density east coast metros severely lag the newer, sprawly, larger land mass cities ... except for Boston :mjpls:

I’d really like the know the demo of those who are taking flight from the old, dense metros to the sprawling, newer, larger land mass cities.

Houston, Phoenix, San Antonio and Dallas are the most populous cities in the top 10 getting the most new residents... by faaaar. All have double digit +percent change.

Y’all can say what y’all want about how Desireable y’all cities are... but numbers—on the surface— are telling a different story . :usure:

Philly is being gentrified now :mjcry:

:dwillhuh:

... I thought Philly's black areas would be one of the more resistant to gentrification ... say it ain’t so man :to:

Philly is dope and folks got their own thing going.
NYC isn't really on their minds at all... outside of some jokes I heard about how they talked and dressed at the time.

Most accurate post in this thread

People here don’t care to be a “glamour” city full of transplants, hipsters, IG “models” and gentrifiers. We like flying under the radar. We’re authentic, we have a lot of tight knit communities which is unheard of for a big city nowadays. There’s a lot of pride out here. Black folks here have our own program here, the Irish have their own program, the Italians, Polish, Russians and Cambodians have their own programs. We all mind our business. We all get along. The COL is amazing and there’s a lot of working class people here. Its one of the only cities where people are able to still provide a decent lifestyle for their families without a degree. Nobody here really cares what people from California think about us. You don’t care about us and we don’t care about y’all :yeshrug:

The Bronx is full of Ricans and Brooklyn has been getting whiter by the day. Culturally it's spread out all over the place, not mention Harlem etc. It's not what it used to be for me.
how's queens? what was queens like back in the day?
