Does any sport provide more anxiety than a close baseball game?

I think playoffs hockey is comparable especially the games that go to multiple overtimes because the first goal scored wins and all the players are battling against exhaustion.

That triple OT game from the '13 Stanley Cup was one of the most intense sporting contests I've ever seen, the players could barely skate at the end and it became a battle of atrition

I played pretty much every sport

I was a pitcher from lil dude-high school

There is nothing more intense/ rewarding than being on the mound when you get a save or just pitch a good game. One little mistake can fukk your whole day up.

Also when your batting, down by one, a runner on 3rd with two outs. You really gotta keep your head right.

A pitcher sees your face even a small amount of :patrice:your done

It's not easy to walk up in that situation like :jawalrus:

Nah.

There's far too much inactivity and 'down' periods in beisbol (tension release during inning breaks) compared to shyt like basketball and hockey where you have less time to collect your thoughts and/or perspective on what's going on.

You're talking generally. I said in a close game.

What you call collect your thoughts in baseball is a collection of nerves because you can't simply rely on instinct like other sports.

I aint even in to hockey but when I watched playoff hockey a few years back them tie games had a nikka stressed. evrything is so hectic and everytime someone takes a shot or even loons like they bout to take one you ready to jump out your seat. i think basketball and football are better games but its true that the end of baseball and hockey games are more tense. but at the same time the 4th quarter of last years Finals aost killed me. had a nikka sweating and forgetting to breathe

And I'm talking about in a close game too. I didn't think I need to mention that since you stated it in the title. I'm keeping to the script. There's still innings breaks and down time in a close game in beisbol, there's less of that in basketball and hockey. Not to mention it doesn't have the change of pace, action and body contact (pause) that they do either.

I think the biggest thing is, a lead can change at any given moment (within seconds - which doesn't allow you to settle, leaving you constantly on edge). You don't get that in beisbol.
