Does anybody actually believe that Kobe is a better all time player than Bron?

If it's the assists you are focused on, that's not the point. I was referring to Lebron's passing ability and on-court awareness. Lebron probably could play a pure magic-like role if required.

Don't forget, Magic and Bird were terrible defenders. Don't listen to @Juggalo Fred . He's been lying about being a mod for years.

And the field goal %.
And the free throw %.

Neither one of them is really that good at shooting the 3, but both averaged the same number of rebounds; even though Magic played point guard and was further from the basket.

More rebounds to be had. The game was faster and Showtime was at the head of that. Truth be told, it's possible Magic could have been a bigger scorer if it was necessary. I used to place Magic below MJ as the second best PERIMETER player. I think Lebron has knocked him down to 3. Mainly because of defense.

Eye Test.. Kobe is better.
I dont believe LeBron would've won in the WEST like Kobe did throughout the years.

LeBron stat-padded too much and failed too many times i.e. against Boston, Orlando, Spurs (twice), Mavs
way too many choke jobs in big moments, and had to be bailed out way too many times. i.e. Ray Allen, Kyrie
teaming up with 4 hall of famers etc.

same people that think Lebron is better than Kobe, are the ones who think Jay Z is better than Nas because of how many records he sold, and how much money he has,

On the opposite side of the argument is that Magic literally competed against some of the top players in the history of the game. Jordan, Bird, Ewing, Robinson, Olajawon, Kevin Johnson, Drexler, Isiah Thomas, Rodman, Pippen, Stockton, Karl Malone... .

Sorry breh. I like Lebron especially since he dispatched that fraudulent G.S. club, but c'mon man; until Lebron passes Magic in total titles then Magic has to be considered better.

I think so. He didn't need a superteam to win championships. He got through the gauntlet that was the West to get his 5 rings. He won two without another top 5 talent on his team. If Lebron didn't team with Wade and Bosh he could have ended up as the next Nash, Barkley or Malone: ringless MVP. Even when the East was all time bad he only made the Finals once, despite being on 60 win teams. I respect his decisions as a free agent but both moves were made with the easiest path to victory in mind.

As pure players I think it's a wash. Kobe is the more versatile scorer while being a great all around player, Lebron the more versatile all around player while being an effective scorer.

I do admit the 2016 Finals was impressive, though again, his route to the Finals couldn't have been any easier.

:what: You don't think the front courts bean had were a "superteam" though, even when he wasn't the best player on his own team until his ninth year? Look at how bad those teams in Cleveland were. The second best cavalier was alwaysnthe fifth or sixth best player in every series they played in. Why wouldn't someone pick the easiest path to the trophy? The only example we've ever seen of the reverse was 2004 when Kobe chased Shaq out of Los Angeles and then wanted out himself by 2006.

I think the Shaq/Kobe Lakers had two of the best players in the league and a bunch of veteran role players.

And I'm not willing to call the Kobe/Gasol Lakers a super team by any means. Best front court in the league? Possibly. In a historical context? Hell no. The 09' team was probably on the '15 Warriors level in terms of depth for comparison. They were just a great team. Not super.

As for LeBron's Cavs: imo if you're back to back MVP on a 66 win team you should be able to get to the Finals and win a game. I'm sure he would have at some point because the Celtics were on the verge of being washed up, but instead he took less money to ring chase with a rival contemporary at the age of 25.

If Kobe decided in 2004 he wanted to team up with KG and TMac or some shyt then he would have never heard the end of it.

So without context it is easy to look at the resume and lean towards Lebron. He has great numbers, nice achievements, etc., and is still going strong. But if you ask me today, I hold his competitive spirit against him. 2016 Finals gets him going in the right direction. His career isn't over yet and he has time though.

Honestly, do nikkas actually believe this?

When it comes to Jordan, I won't even argue about Bron being better, I accept MJ as being the best, even though Bron is my GOAT.

If nikkas said Shaq was better all time than Bron I wouldn't even be mad or argue over it too much. Dude was hands down the most physically dominant player I have ever seen

But Kobe? :russ:

Idk, that shyt is just funny to me. I never thought of him in that way. nikkas be talking about dude as if he's a basketball God and I don't get it at all.

Most hall of fame basketball players would pick Kobe over LeBron.

I trust the guys who played to know who can play and who can't.

LeBron is just a stat geeks dream. Real nikkas know Kobe is the superior player because his superior skill level.
