A lot of it is intended to give one side the best outcome and negelects that two people are involved.a lot of popular dating advice seems to come from a place of "me, me, i, myself" which doesn't translate well in a relationship scenario

Yep. Hard to even call it “dating”i look at dating as fun, nice and easy. idk how people can take it as the opportunity to determine who has the higher value, who brings what to the table, who holds the control, what can i "get" from this person even though i know they aren't the one i want to be with, etc. who would want to be involved in that?
