It had good parts but overall it was waaaaay too long and Buu was wayyyyy too overpowered
His regeneration powers were terrible, ridiculous and overused. He regenerated like 20 times per episode and it got old quick.

Right he got completely put to sleep then he has to go to go to otherworld to train with the kai with that stupid ass sword for what seemed like ages, just to have him get absorbed by Buu and cast aside like dirty laundryfor about 2 episodes I was a Gohan Stan

Godzilla got busy.
There was an IG page last year posting a DBZ episode a day, chopped into about 10 clips per episode. It was essentially like how we all watched it back in the day, except this time with a comment section. I caught it when Trunks was givin Frieza the Mutumbo finger wave and rode the train until Vegeta's sacrifice, at which point I only tuned in for the big moments.
Few things that killed the saga for me:
1) The momumental fumble of Gohan.
2) Supreme Kai being a WOAT series character.
3) Buu was mid, Fat Buu was unbearable.
The saga was fine to me up until they reached Babibi's ship/lair/whatever and Supreme Kai suddenly shifts into a character that constantly does stupid shyt for the sole purpose of moving the plot forward. It's one thing for Vegeta's ego to let enemies off the hook. We chalk that up as a Saiyan genetic defect lol. But for a Supreme Kai to be so miscalculated so often was just too much to suspend disbelief. After that it was just disjointed remixing of earlier sagas/events. Even fusion. We been saw that with Piccolo, TWICE.
I actually liked the Saiyaman/world-building episodes to start the saga. The payoff when finally seeing him dust off SSJ2 at the tournament, reminding the world he's the saviour from the Cell games, was worth the wait.
Unfortunately nothing came from it and he got hoed the rest of the series.
