Sounds like you do have ideas of what you want to do, those are two quite specific areas that both offer paid positions etc. Maybe you can try to study the business and legal aspects of music and app industries, so that if the creative part doesn't work out you can still get in, and maybe build something for yourself. I don't know how the study thing works, but if you somehow "have" to go (to make your moms happy) maybe try to see what classes could be useful to you or other activities there. A lot of people I've met didn't always gain benefits from the main thing they were doing/studying, but from "side" activities, meeting people, etc.
Yes I have ideas of what I'd like to do with my life which is be a creative, but while those skills are developed I must have a job first. I know a couple of brehs who rap and one breh who's learning code too. Retail sucks.

You're on the right track breh. You're doing what you're supposed to in your situation : working a shytty job to support yourself while you develop the skills you want to move forward. See, that's something I didn't do at your age, and I regret it now. Again, you're very young, and anyway there's no random arbitrary age in which you're supposed to "be set" or whatever. Keep grinding on your off time, also take advantage that unlike us :flabbynsick: brehs you have more energy to put in work. Also as much as you can get in contact people in those areas you're interested in, ta lot of opportunities (not only money opportunities, but learning/experience opportunities) come that way, out of random conversations and meeting a friend of a friend...that too I understood late:manny:

Yeah, I went to college in France so didn't really need to work on the side to support myself (parents helping out didn't hurt either). But in hindsight I should have, would've made me more ready for the real world. Also I didn't use the extra free time I had to develop any other skill, was just studying, so let's say that I didn't learn much about life while I was at college. Big mistake. So when I graduated I had no idea what to do, had hardly worked in my life already had bad habits, that I still have to be honest. So even if your work sucks now, the fact you have one and try to develop your own stuff on the side means you have a work ethic, and that will come in handy when you actually do something you're interested in.

A form of laziness :francis: mostly just "going with the flow" of things, instead of myself being proactive to make things happen in the areas I'm interested in. That led me to not really pursue stuff I like, trying to right the ship now with my writing though.

Also the social aspect of it, I kind of tend to avoid social happenings and keep to myself, but that's not really good because you can meet people and learn suff that way

Most of the times, depends on the crowd...but most stuff happens through networking and socializing, and "selling yourself" so def suffered from that:yeshrug:
Well was it that you wanted to do? What was your major in college? Did you use it for your current job?

Would've been something cultural, in music, or now, litterature. Or in Political science, or journalism. I studied economics (mostly theory), and never used any of it in any of the jobs I had afterwards. And that was 15 years ago already. I'm considering trying some translation, but obviously you end up being pitched against people who have been doing that for 10 years, so obviously they gonna chose the other guy. Which is what happened last week when i had a proposal to translate a book :beli:
