Therapy shouldn't just be something you go and do and move on with your day. A lot of people use therapy to get all their issues out but don't use it to actually improve on what has been revealed through their sessions. Some therapists just aren't a right fit for a myriad of reasons e.g. they're new, they don't mesh with your personally or culturally etc.
You have a coach or trainer for the sport/gym you play and they can't deal with you every minute of the day. But if the only time you work on your craft is when you're in their presence you won't improve as much as you could if you put in the effort outside of it. Watching film, writing down ideas, setting up plans for your week. Same idea with a mentor. Teacher. Doctor. Nutritionist.
I honestly have been essentially playing therapist for the jobs I've worked for years as well with friends, family, relationships. shyt is tiring listening to people's issues and suggesting things to improve on while dealing with your own shyt. I always suggest they find a good(preferably with higher credentials, more time in the field and culturally similar) therapist to work with because it's a good supplement.
