Does Bruno Mars have the best scam in music right now?

Aint he Puerto Rican?

How comes it's an issue for him to do black music but people like Fat Joe get a pass?

Puerto Ricans were right there when Hip Hop was born. Crazy Legs can't be in Hip Hop according to these dudes?

So of course. Logic says that you're 100% right but logic doesn't really click with some of these cats.

This is a throwback track and homage to the past but I bet 99% of you have never heard it:

Black artists are making true r&b, they just don't get nearly the same exposure by the people who control the media outlets.

They want safe, feel-good r&b to have a non-black face

spectacular music...please can you share more. i have old jazz but i want to expand my collections

Chris brown can pass for a damn Puerto Rican his damn self self if we're being honest. Can't just put it on race
Chris would still be a black Puerto Rican. Kind of pointless to say this.

This is what Bruno mars does and I already has begun

They did that with Justin too. Twitter was shaming Usher and other legit R&B artists when the 20/20 Experience came out. It was sad.

Naw you started it.
I don't mind if people disagree, but you crossed the line first.

Justin is the most overrated artist of this gen. fukk him too.
Not a great singer, Not a good dancer, Not a great performer, Not even in a great boyband member.
But I disagree, Justified doesn't sound or carry itself like a mike album. Sounds like some dated Timbaland/Neptunes.
JC Chasez had the vocals in *NSYNC.

This. He’s found the formula and still manages to make it not sound too contrived. It’s brilliant really.

@PhonZhi

I firmly believe that is if a clean cut darkskin black person was doing what Bruno does under the machine he has they’d get the same love.

Traditional r&b hasn’t really transcended into the mega pop lane for sometime . That’s just where the game has been for a while.

Same with pop rock. The game has just changed :manny:

:dwillhuh::martin: na.......black people don't blow off of doing retro rehashing of their OWN older sounds. It's considered passe unless a non-black person leeches on those sounds

ain't no more black artist. get over it
all that dikk rider of wack rappers and hustlers of lyricist allowed for black music to be bottle necked into one box

There is no more black music, black music is basically strip club music now, there is no black music industry,
just a bunch of ignorant nikkaz with no talent hitting licks, because getting bag is all that matters

when drake career was ended after being exposed as a fraud, that told you right there it was a wrap

I can't even a name a young nikka who can sing for real

chris brown aint young no more, and he a rapper now, he not an R&B nikka

bruno mars killing it, he embarrassing nikkaz doing black music better than any black artist right now, and thats just the harsh reality

this is what happens when you don't stick to the roots and carry on tradition, and sell out

lil uzi vert the new leader of black music lmao

its a wrap

Does he have a machine behind him? Read.. read... reeeeeeeead. :martin:

Machine or not, history has proven this to be true. Blacks always have to set the new trend and move on from their old(er) sounds or they will perish from mainstream while mainly whites are allowed to rehash and eat of those same OLD black sounds and blow off it w/o actually being that innovative to the sound.

I think Bruno is an ok artist but man I wish Chris Brown would have gone this route. but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO he want to sing about drugs and rap about getting lit instead. The nikka barely even dances anymore, just doing those easy trendy dances like the nae nae and hit da folks and calls it a day.:mjcry:
:gucci: nikka stop lying!! Except for maybe "Privacy", Chris did choreograpied dancing in all 6 music videos on his current album.

Here's a recent Tidal featurette about his choreographer:

I have a question for the people who think the music industry is trying to push blacks out of R&b and Hip hop; why didn't they do it a long time ago? I mean both forms of music have been around for decades, why are they just waiting until today? Why didn't they try to push out black people during the peak of R&b and Hip Hop music's popularity? Why would they wait until hardly anyone in the music can barely go Gold.
