He does.
I still think from the eye test...
McNabb was better than Cam at this stage. You could see it was the shyt around McNabb hurting his game. With Cam its either he's not progressing or the coaches are not getting the most out of him.
Put 25 year old McNabb on this Panthers team with KB and Olson (who are better than any of McNabb's targets outside the TO year and later in his career with Jackson) I think he plays better.
However, McNabb did have Andy Reid with him in Philly. So maybe it is the coaching thats holding Cam back.
I have to think about who was the better QB at that age. Still it does not change McNabb had a better OC who called screens and roll outs and slants. It does not change that Mcnabb played behind two great OL tackles and a good OL.
In saying all of that it still doesn't change the fact that these black QBs get fukked over and over. McNabb had to go to management and beg for a WR. Then go to the media and beg for a WR after going to three straight NFC championship games and 4 years of playoff runs.
Now ask youself this would any white QB have to go to management and the media to beg for help?
In the end McNabb would have been in the same situation as Cam with that OL, that garbage running game and that horrible play calling. Now if McNabb could have had KB (Olson a wash because he can't run block....the Eagles tight end was better in my oppionion because he could block and catch), Andy Reid as OC and that Eagles OL it would have helpd but I am not sure he still would have beaten the Rams, TB or Carolina in those NFC championship games.
I have always argued the only reason McNabb went to the Super Bowl was because he faced a QB that finally had less weapons than him (and what do you know another black QB in Vick) in the championship game and Westbrook was healthy for the first time and the last time in an NFC championship game.
