To be honest it was THE MIXTAPE it changed the game alot. Now you are required to have a mixtape to even be in the game.
The selective history towards Drake is really funny because back in 2008, Drake was THE biggest internet rapper. Period.

These songs with Drake on them a lot of people connect with them, his songs/lines create pop culture movements. We will remember YOLO and the Motto years down the line, I remember being at parties and everyone vibing to Drake's verse and hook on I'm On One and putting their cups whenever Khaled said "put em up", we'll remember Stay Schemin off the Common beef and Kobe line.
