Does LeBron deserve credit for not needing to be "the man"?

Look at how many young stars couldn't co-exist w/ each other and caused rising teams to break apart.

Penny/Shaq
Shaq/Kobe(although they had a great run)
LJ/Alonzo
T-Mac/Vince (and these dudes were family...SMH)
KG/Marbury
...there's probably a few others I can't recall

In all these situations, one or both guys wanted to be the main focus of the team.
And every one of those teams struggled for years thereafter.

Meanwhile LeBron, who right now is very much in his prime, clearly doesn't care being "the man" or sharing the spotlight. He's the complete opposite, actually.

He wants the Max now, and he certainly deserves it. At some point or another EVERY great athlete will want to be "The Man" it's a natural part of being a competitor. I do give Lebron props for putting up with all the bullshyt the media threw at him about that though, he did it HIS way making HIS moves and in doing so proved that he was indeed the "MAN" all along.....

WTF are you talking about? He basically had the same numbers he had on Cleveland, same record he had in Cleveland.. If anything , Wade and Bosh deserve the credit for altering their games around him..

But Lebron ALWAYS has been the man:what:

There's a difference in being "the man" by DEFAULT, as opposed to not wanting to share the spotlight with another superstar.

What does this have to do with anything? :comeon:

Stats don't matter, it's about EGO.

Shaq was still beasting with Penny and with Kobe, and Kobe was still scoring 27-28ppg with Shaq. LJ and Zo were still scoring whatever they were getting.

So KG and Steph didn't split over ego's? One or the others?

My bad if I've been mis-informed, but that's the way I always heard it explained. :manny:
