Does LeBron deserve credit for not needing to be "the man"?

My Pops Forever RIP
So KG and Steph didn't split over ego's? One or the others?

My bad if I've been mis-informed, but that's the way I always heard it explained. :manny:
Steph's issue was twofold:

1. He was jealous of KG

2. He didn't wanna be in Minnesota. he wanted to go home

On the court they were a perfect combination.

So we gonna act like KG wasn't jealous of Marbury too?

Only reason KG didn't wig out in Boston is because Pierce was already established as the man on that team.

I really don't get what you're saying. He has always been the man whether by "default"(I don't even get that either) or anything else.

What's not to get?

He's "the man", so to speak, by 'default' b/c he was the best player on his team/best player in the NBA....as opposed to NEEDING to be the main focus not wanting to share the spotlight with other stars.

There's a difference in being "the man" by DEFAULT, as opposed to not wanting to share the spotlight with another superstar.

What does this have to do with anything? :comeon:

Stats don't matter, it's about EGO.

Shaq was still beasting with Penny and with Kobe, and Kobe was still scoring 27-28ppg with Shaq. LJ and Zo were still scoring whatever they were getting.
exactly my point.. his ego is the same as it was with the cavs..

It doesn't matter what he wants, LeBron has clearly been "The Man" wherever he goes, there's no way around it.

Ironically (based on how the media wants to portray players) LeBron seems a lot more secure in himself than most superstar level athletes.

Most stars in the OP were younger than Lebron when he left Cleveland. He tried being The Man with the Cavs, we all know how that ended. But it's only after he tried that that he joined Wade and Bosh. It's easier to understand you're not able to make it without other all-stars when you're 6-7 years in the league and a multiple MVP than when you're a rookie/2nd year player still on the come up and trying to establish yourself.

Meanwhile LeBron, who right now is very much in his prime, clearly doesn't care being "the man" or sharing the spotlight. He's the complete opposite, actually.

So why is he demanding a max salary and wanting to be the highest paid on his team (well deserved) if he really doesn't mind sharing the spotlight. If its all about winning then he should take less again so his team or the team he goes to can get pieces around him and continue to win rings

WTF are you talking about? He basically had the same numbers he had on Cleveland, same record he had in Cleveland.. If anything , Wade and Bosh deserve the credit for altering their games around him..

:childplease: It doesn't take much to let someone else do all the heavy lifting while you still get max money and rings and constantly referenced as a superstar, future HOF, to good to play with player no matter how poorly you actually play. Matter fact you can sing me up for that shyt. :heh:

Because he put up the same numbers in the Finals that his 2 and 3 put up combined. :ld:
