that's all luck is

Exactly.
I used to make music with several people who went on to be successful in the entertainment business and the only reason that happened was they meet the right people at the right time and received help and I didn't. In some cases I was more talented at writing and producing than they were and had a stronger work ethic. Went to the same showcases and performed in front of the same execs but my brother didn't work for atlantic records like my homie from high school, I didn't have a cousin in the NBA to found my career like a few others I know :francis:

This type of shyt goes on all the time but a lot of people either act oblivious to it, or pretend it doesn't make much of a difference in the end. Millions of people get an extra leg up every day and find themselves in positions they never would have been in if not for random family/friend connections or being somewhere at the perfect time.

Of course to acknowledge this is to concede that the well-loved "bootstraps mentality" is largely a myth; or at the very least, way overblown. But It's clear it makes people uncomfortable to have to confront the idea that there are those who can and DO get advantages over others that are beyond their own personal control.

Not in business... You actually have to BE GOOD and selling a QUALITY PRODUCT OR SERVICE in order to succeed.... And you gotta have a business mind (Which most dont have. That doesnt come with luck. Most people are employee minded... Theres no luck in the world that can change that)

Maybe if youre talking about becoming a successful mumble rapper..... But if youre talking about business..... There is no luck... Youre either good enough or YOURE NOT.

PERIOD.

If you're good enough, you will succeed.

If you suck, you'll fail

Out of 100%, I believe luck is 1% or less. Just have to position yourself properly.

If 10 people of the same caliber (qualifications match evenly) go for a job interview that offers a 6 figure salary. They all are qualified to the tee, and 3 out of 10 give very solid interviews. What makes the person who gets the job get the job?

2 overly qualified teams in the championship game, what grants the winning team the win?

2 businesses of the same type open in different area of the city. One fails after a years time, because while its in a very busy location, the shopping mall that its located in has little to no customers on a daily basis. The other business is in a low traffic area however the particular location has a high loyalty for patrons in the area and because of this the restaurant takes off due to word of mouth.

Hard word accounts for you qualifying for success, but in most cases success itself is garnered by luck, or the universe working in the favor of the winners

What's your definition of success? Depending on that will luck be required or not. But I'll definitely go for work ethic/drive as the most important part of a person's success.

Consistency is mistaken for luck. If you consistently pursue whatever it is you are doing and you are actively networking and consistent with putting out material then you are going to meet SOMEONE who can get you to the next level.

Definition of luck- success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one's own actions.

When it comes to success its hard to say. Because as a black man, I feel the deck is already stacked against us. So if you a black man making 80, 90 thousand to six figures. U might have to consider yourself lucky.

There's a lot of people who are smart but couldn't go to college because of family or financial reasons. That is a sign of bad luck.

Most definitely. That's why it's important to never give up on life no matter how rough it gets. That big break could happen just walking to the store for a snapple. Never know what tomorrow or the next minute could bring. It could be good or bad. You won't know though if you just give up. Keep on pushing until you can't.

Luck plays an important role in everything. Some people are lucky while others simply aren't. Some people are born LeBron James and others are born to a fate of suffering, cancer, and/or death prior to the age of 10. Some people were born rich in America in 1990, and others were born peasants in India in 1400. This is simply reality. So as far as I'm concerned all you should really focus on is trying to be and do the best that you can given your circumstances. No more and no less. What more could any reasonable or sane God/person expect from you? :yeshrug:

A bunch of people will wake up today and die on this same day simply by being in the wrong place at the wrong time (i.e. unlucky). This is life. The following are more examples where luck play an important role in a person's life/success:

  1. Tyson Gay's daughter dying as a result of some random stray bullet hitting in her in the neck while she ate at a restaurant;
  2. A baby zebra being eaten not 1 minute after being born;
  3. Millions of kids inflicted with horrible cancers and diseases from birth, suffering their entire lives, and then dying before the age of 10;
  4. People winning hundreds of millions in lotteries;
  5. LeBron James: physical freak, rich as fukk, tremendous role-model, great family, influential, fantastic head on his shoulders, top notch leader of men;
  6. Going out, meeting the right people at the right time, and consequently receiving an opportunity to make a LOT of money as a result that the person who did not go out will never receive.
Life is what it is, folks...:ld:
