-gets credit for "effort" but in reality is a below-average defender
-lacks the offensive awareness it takes to be a play maker for his teammates
-doesn't come off as a "leader" type


With the leadership intangible......you all know, and I know....Tyson Chandler is the "leader" of this ball club which is also why I have no problem with anything he said about Game 3. Dude was right on the money, and Melo's reaction to those comments cements those thoughts even further.

Is he shooting great? No. Is he playing great D? No. But right now he's the only one being productive. If JR Smith was making shots Melo wouldn't need to take 35 shots and if Melo was taking shots away from productive players, that's a problem, but that's not the case.

He's more like bottom 10 or even 10-15 type player. And for that type of player he's fine and plays up to his level consistently. U n!ggas knew beginning of the season the knicks didn't have a low post player and all they can do his shoot jump shots, but didn't complain when they beat a weak azz celtics team in the first round.

The Pacers look like the better team and have a player that can negate/limit what Melo does offensively, outside of morphing into a top 5 playmaker I don't think there's anything more he could do against them. The Pacers are built perfectly to handle a team like the Knicks, I don't blame Melo, that would be stupid. Even if he was hitting 50% of his shots they'd still be losing.

Eh, a lot of his teammates are getting looks, you got a dude like Jason Kidd out there that half the coli could do what he's doing now. I don't see anyone making those dudes around him better, they are what they are.
