there's nothing haram about putting a ball through a basket Slaimon. indeed, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala encourages you to love life and take joy in what interests you.

you can be a faithful Muslim and follow the Nuggets my dear brother.
From what the scholars say and what the Sahabah did, was they would always be doing something good for either their afterlife life or their worldly life . Watching basketball all of those hours isn't the worst thing you can do, but there are much better things you can do than that. Actually playing basketball would be a good thing as it is exercise and keeps you strong. I speak for myself first, we should never waste any of our free time doing something unproductive, if we want to practice Islam like the Sahabah and the Saved sect of Muslims.

If you had actually witnessed the Hellfire and Paradise, you probably would find better things to do than watch NBA games.

I tried. :mjcry:

if you believe this strict, rigid, puritanical approach towards religion is the only way, then Allah maak. but I believe taking a few hours a week to enjoy a game or book or hobby can be very therapeutic. and a healthier mental state promotes a healthier iman.
