how long before they start ripping the single player campaign out of games like COD, battlefield, etc and selling that as $40 DLC?

I mean shyt, games like titanfall and evolve are multi-player only games that already sell for full-priced $60

can you imagine a game like bloodborne where each time you die you have to start back at the beginning of the game but you can buy lives with real money I feel like micro transactions are getting to a point where its gonna be like that

Yes. The video game industry is headed into some scary times and youd have to be blind not to see it.

The AAA market cannot keep going as is. Theres less and less games, studios being shut down constantly because just 1 flop can close its doors. DLC is becoming more and more obnoxious and over priced. Games are consistently being shipped broken so they can create cash income to finish games.

Studios have to rely more and more on remasters to create income.

I'll tell you this, if you don't like indies you're in for a rough time.

The budgets for games have become so bloated that the markets going to crash under its own weight.


Bigger budgets with failure for closure at a flop equals the painfully stale market we are in. No risks are being taken. Games all feel and look the same. The only creativity is in the indie space right now.

Bloodborne just came out. Witcher 3 is a couple weeks away. MKX just dropped and there's plenty more to come this year.

Indies are doing too many 2d platformers with some gimmick.

Independent developers and the mid-tier developers are the future.

AAA is becoming more and more bloated. Even Activision knows this, which is why they brought back Sierra so they CAN get these smaller projects out.
